Free School Meals

Parents do not have to pay for school lunches if they receive any of the following:

Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual household income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed £16,190
Universal Credit

You should notify the school if your circumstances change; e.g you start work and come off benefits or you change address.

Pupil Premium

Commerce Road High School receives a Pupil Premium payment for students eligible for free school meals. The amount for this year it is £935 for secondary pupils. This additional funding will be invested in your child to help them achieve more at school. We can also sometimes offer free uniform, trips, one to one tuition and additional teaching support, help towards music lessons and after school activities. If eligible for free school meals, you may also be entitled to claim other forms of assistance.

Payments

We can take payment for your child's school meals via the website. This will then be updated by the administration staff, to allow your child to eat school meals that week.

All food is freshly prepared on site, with a variety of items to choose from. There are vegetarian options available, as well as specific dietary requirements catered for on request.
